ENGLCOM has been a great and remarkable course I had taken. Why? It is because this course gave me another chance to improve on my writing skills since I stopped writing essays and everything after my third year in high school. Being in this course made me realize that both writing and reading has never been so unlikeable. Moreso, the development I got in this course made, rather, took me as far as I can go with reading and writing. ENGLCOM taught me right – DISCIPLINE, DEVELOPMENT, and APPRECIATION in writing and of course in reading.
I can now say I’m competent and totally would now be independent in reading articles and writing compositions. I am now able to understand compositions when reading fast. I also learned to write essays in its most correct form. I managed to have learned every single inch of knowledge this course offered me. ENGLCOM has broadened more all reading and writing skills I learned during high school. There was this discipline that ENGLCOM has taught me. It is the discipline that made me grow naturally, academically, and competently in comprehension and writing skills.
As I have said, ENGLCOM has improved my comprehension skills. I have learned techniques on how to understand high-faluting words in works, essays or compositions. Moreover, the ENGLCOM course developed more my writing skills into something extraordinary and worth-reading.
All my expectations with this course have been met as this term passed by. This course regained back my habit of reading. I am happy that I have not been wasting my free times doing nothing. I learned to spend these by reading. ENGLCOM also had given me the PRIVILEGE – not a chance anymore, to develop my imaginative skills. The expectation of having a great time in this course has been met too. I enjoyed taking and attending this class. It is also in this class that I discovered great things about myself and the class.
I had fun during this class and I must say it is the only course I enjoyed during this term. This course helped me grow up knowledgeably because it is not all about writing and reading compositions. ENGLCOM is about how I show myself to all through these skills I learned. I will surely miss this class. THANK YOU ENGLCOM!

Sexual Education encompasses knowledge about sexuality and all aspects of human sexual behavior. It refers to teaching an aspect of life particularly sexuality. It values the fulfillment of the curiosity of kids and teenagers about sex. Nowadays, teens are more prone to having sex and getting pregnant. Because of this, the two leading sexual and international health charities namely Brook and the Family Planning Association, are calling for children as young as four to be given compulsory sex education. Yet the Church seems to oppose this because bishops say that including this to the curriculum would be immoral for a Catholic school. Although the Philippine Catholic Bishops opposed on having been taught sex education in schools, Sex Education should be included in the curriculum of the students particularly in Primary and Secondary levels of education because (a) this Education is not limited to getting pregnant and about being a parent; (b) this also reduces the urge of young children to have premarital sex, and (c) this ensures protection of sexual health for children and also for their parents.
The Church says that Sex Education is the primary root of children’s curiosity which leads to doing sexual acts. They say that learning this increases the number of teenage pregnancies. They also think that having this in the curriculum would immortalize the school’s Catholic figure. This is what the Church believes to happen if Sex Education would become part of the curriculum.
But with that, I am opposing what they believe in. It is because Sex Education is more of promoting camaraderie and coordination among parents and children in dealing with sexuality. According to an online article entitled, “Sex Education for Young Children”, parents are the best source of sex education and dialogue for children. Thus, sex education gives chance to parents of children to have dialogue with them on the matter. They still serve as guides until the children grow up in legal time of having sex which is after marriage.
Sex Education also entails children to have realistic values and views of sexuality in the society today. It will help lessen sexual molestation with children as still according to the said article.
Lastly, teaching Sex Education as early as in Primary school ensures formation of healthy relationships and protection of sexual health. According to Simon Blake, Brook chief executive, “If we get high-quality sex and relationships education in every primary and secondary schools, all evidences show teenage pregnancy rates will continue to fall and will improve young people’s sexual health.” Through this, an assurance of young people having free access to sexual health services is promised to parents for their children. He also told BBC: “All the evidences show that if a child starts attending sex education early before the start of puberty, they start having sex later.” These are points that entail sex education cannot cause harmful effects to a child. Rather, it promotes discipline in one’s sexuality.
Sex Education is a matter of now or never. It is because this will lessen the chances of teenage pregnancies. It diminishes world problems such as Early Pregnancies, Abortion, and the like through a causal chain reaction. It should also start at home through parents. They are foremost responsible of their children. And the knowledge the children get from their parents must be backed with the knowledge learned in school.
Sex Education is not a matter of having sex. Rather, it promotes basic knowledge so that children can understand more and more complex concepts at a later age. Lastly, Sex Education is a total assurance that everyone learns the proper discipline in dealing with sexuality.

~I found it hard to write this essay simply because it really took me a lot of intense research just to make my arguments and i have to contest and reconsider things in my faith. By the way I wrote it, I am quite satisfied with the outcome of this essay. But then, I could still improve it by adding more arguments and supplementing ideas perfectly.

According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, happiness is defined as a state of well-being and contentment. It is also a pleasure of satisfying experience. However, aside from being an emotion, happiness is also a natural source of strength for everyone living in this world. It is because of happiness that makes us do our best and have it as an inspiration to be something worth being special. Happiness is one goal all of us want to attain and a feeling wherein everyone meets his or her own dreams in life.
A man is happy whenever he feels fulfillment, contentment and joy in everything he does. A noticeable smile, grin, and laughter can be seen across his face. He also has that certain aura of joviality whenever he is in this state. This condition of happiness is something we feel whenever a good thing happened that made us get or achieve all of life’s necessities, wants, aspirations, dreams, and goals. The act of being happy becomes a precious memory that one will be willing to treasure for the rest of his life. Happiness is also a quality. It is more of a disposition. It is merely a great state to feel. Like I said, it is hard to achieve because of all problems people worry about. However, there are still reasons why man feels this kind of emotion. One reason is the success man gains. A man who is successful may it be in wealth, love, academics, work or any other means, can be distinguished as a happy person because of the sacrifice he did just to simply gain happiness. Another reason to feel this kind of emotion is to be contented and fulfilled with what you have. Happiness is attached to our life permanently. It will never be separated from us. It will always be a feeling that assures us comfortable dealings with our daily lives.
Happiness is an emotion to hold on. It is more of being in cloud nine. It is the only emotion to be easily shown but harder to get, receive and perceive. Being happy entails contentment and the value o f completeness. In Religion, happiness is simple Heaven, the Kingdom of God, which is the place of eternal joy and greatness; and the means of attaining it is FAITH. This only means that God made happiness just for us to share and be contented. Happiness is a privilege given to us by God. It is a philosophy which we can choose and we opt to choose through. It means that life has been good for us; hence, living it should make us feel happy.
Let me give you an example. A man gains happiness through falling in love. The state of being in love is happiness itself. It means to say that love itself or the feeling of being in love reacts with man’s stimulus to be happy. The feeling of being in love triggers the happiness of man and when he is with his loved one, he feels happy. He grasps happiness and would never let it go. This is because happiness is the greatest feeling of all. Another example is a man receiving complete happiness through death. Religiously speaking, when a man dies faithfully, he is automatically taken up to heaven wherein he receives eternal happiness. These are some examples of how humans receive happiness.
Happiness takes us to memorable places we always want to go to. It takes us where we can become who we are and where we can express freely the joy we are feeling. It is a goal that is attainable and when we are able to attain it, we will feel that everything would be possible and life would be so much comfortable to live. It will be our strength in times of trouble. Lastly, it will be the GREATEST DREAM we will ever achieve and live through.
~ This essay was easy for me to write since everyday I feel happiness inside of me bursting out. I am pretty satisfied with the outcome of this essay because I have discussed in my own way i want it to be my topic of happiness. Reading this simply touched my heart and mind. I think i might still improve this through supplementing more ideas under this topic.

Teenage Pregnancy is one of the most alarming issues in our world today. Many adolescents nowadays engage themselves in sexual intercourse with their partners just to be “in” with their friends. Interestingly, some developed countries even celebrate early teenage pregnancy, as it is a clear sign of fertility. But generally, a girl having been pregnant before adulthood is critically looked down with shame. Basically, teenage pregnancy occurs due to the following reasons: consequences of raging hormones, peer group pressure, and contraceptive failure.
Firstly, consequences of raging hormones may result in teenage pregnancy. Why? It is because the adolescent stage is where experience sudden and unknown emotions. According to an online article entitled “What Causes Teenage Pregnancies”, in this stage of growth also, there is a huge influx of hormones that cause emotions to rage and change among adolescents. Teens also feel a natural sense of rebelling against the set norms and rules. All this, coupled with a sudden sense of fresh-found liberation and sexuality, results in giving vent to their feelings through sexual experiences.
Secondly, peer group pressure is another root of early pregnancy. Most teenagers opt to have sexual intercourse because they need to achieve the acceptance given by the CIRCLE of FRIENDS. Still according to the article previously mentioned, the only way to be accepted is to have relationship with the opposite sex and have sexual relations. In some developed countries, teenagers face too much peer pressure to start having sex at a very young adolescent age. This kind of promiscuous behavior may lead to unwanted teenage pregnancies.
Lastly, teenage pregnancy is caused by contraceptive failure. This is another basic reason for teenage pregnancy. Many brands and types of contraceptives are available in the market easily. But according to the article “What Causes Teenage Pregnancies”, contraceptives are NEVER a guarantee for complete safety. Since teens are still growing and young, they still lack knowledge in using these. They even misuse these. Therefore, this behavior leads to early pregnancies.
There are still many reasons why teenage pregnancy occurs. Whatever these reasons are, the event of having a baby at an early age can be highly traumatic. Thus, proper education for sexuality must be taught to students not only in school but also at home. Parents should give their children a balanced home atmosphere because it is their responsibility as parents. By this, teenage pregnancies would be reduced.

~ I found it hard to write this essay because first of all, I haven’t experienced this, i don’t have ideas with teenage pregnancies, and lastly, I don’t like this topic. Even though those were the cases, i have been able to write and made a good essay out of my researches. I am satisfied with the outcome of my essay. I still need to improve this by still researching for more references in order to come up with an accurate and factual essay.
